On Tuesday, June 13, 2017, the Town of Fort Mill hosted a community drop-in meeting at Fort Mill Middle School on Springfield Parkway. During the meeting, residents were given an opportunity to ask questions about the comprehensive plan update and to provide comments on a variety of issues, including: transportation, land use, housing, cultural and natural resources, parks and community facilities.
Mayor Guynn Savage, Councilwoman Trudie Heemsoth, Councilman Chris Moody, Councilman Jamie Shirey, and several members of the Comprehensive Plan Advisory Committee were on hand to listen to comments from Fort Mill residents and business owners. Attendees were also able to learn more about the comprehensive plan update, and ask questions of town staff and the project consultant, the Catawba Regional Council of Governments.
Approximately 40 attendees participated in the first community meeting. A second community meeting will be held in the fall of 2017 to receive public comments on the draft comprehensive plan.
