On Thu. May 25, 2017, the Comprehensive Plan Advisory Committee (CPAC) held its third meeting at Unity Presbyterian Church in Fort Mill.
The meeting kicked off with an update from Planning Director Joe Cronin. Planning Director Cronin provided an overview of the 2016 population estimates, which were released by the U.S. Census Bureau earlier that morning. He also informed members of upcoming public input opportunities in the month of June, including a community survey which will be available online and at town hall between June 1st and June 30th, as well as a community drop-in meeting scheduled for Tues. June 13th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Springfield Middle School. Assistant Planner Diane Dil then discussed the committee's role in reviewing public comments and preparing draft recommendations for the comprehensive plan.
Following the presentations, the CPAC broke out into its three subcommittee groups: Land Use, Transportation & Housing; Cultural Resources, Natural Resources & Public Health; and Economic Development & Community Facilities. Each subcommittee discussed a draft vision statement for the comprehensive plan update, as well as planning principles and values for their respective elements.
The next meeting of the CPAC is scheduled for Thu. June 22, 2017, at 6:30 PM. The meeting will take place at Unity Presbyterian Church (303 Tom Hall Street).
